Scenes from my Real Life:

This is me all dressed up for my meeting with ListenUp Audiobooks earlier today. Though nothing has been signed yet, the meeting was positive and an audio version of High Midnight as read by Mssr. Bernard Setaro Clark will hopefully be available for your listening pleasure soon. Fingers crossed.

It could be worse...

Well sure some of us are having a horrible lonely Valentine's... but can you imagine how bad it was for the poor schmuck who had to help Hitler find the perfect gift for his gal?

"How about this delightful crown, Mien Fuhrer?"

"Nien! Remember the year I got her Austria... she hated it."

"Tch... well have you considered flowers and chocolate then, Mien Fuhrer?"

"Have you considered how hard it is to get a Valentine's Day card on the Eastern Front?"

*exhausted sigh*

Scenes from my Real Life:

So there's this guy up at the Y working out with his daughter. Dude's a little older than me and he comes up with his girl to tell me he digs the Black Flag shirt I'm wearing. We get to talking some. Turns out he's an old school scenester who used to go to the Metro and Somber Reptile back in the day. Meanwhile his girl, with her Agnes Scott pout and attention rooted in her phone, keeps rolling her eyes while hinting to pops how she's starting to 'cool down'.

Which is when I say something innocuous like - "Oh so you never played your daughter any of your old vinyl?" - or something similar.

Which is when the dude informs yours truly that no he hasn't as this would be his girlfriend and not his daughter.

Which with a giggle from his lady ended that close-call with me making a new friend.

Ah, the old Babalon charm.
