jack_babalonPrior to last night I never fantasied about siamese twins , never thought i'd be aroused by a stripper with a pigs tail or would see what the love child between Truman Capote and Jim Jones in the form of a Flipper freak would look like. Well all that's changed when I went to Dad's Garage last night to get me some of that thar culturifyin' all them college girlies like (ah-heh-heh). I must say I had a great time,I gasped and sobbed like a regular rube. A kind of fun house mirror tilt a whirl of how people view love,life and acceptance. I kept half expecting to hear the cast chant "One of us! One of us!" but that'd be Todd Brown not Katherine Dunn.
Before hand I had to brave that bitch-storm on the way down to lil'5. Wind howling like a Wagner Opera on crack as the South bound Marta shook on the tracks, cracks of lightning bursting over the skyline like baby Jesus was having himself one big bad temper-tempest tantrum, Rain coming down like bullets soaking through the ceiling on the train cab as the lights flickered. There is a loud Kraka-fucking-boom outside and this little sista sitting with her man jumps right into his arms, he looks over at me holding her and winks confidently I return the confident smile until I realize I'm white knuckling the hand rail on the back of the seat. When the train dips underground prior to Art station from where I can see the traffic river of headlights along 85 crawling slowly like some kind of mass exodus from the city as a blanket of dark gray swallows up the buildings in the skyline. By the time I hop trains at five points and emerge from the Candler park station everything is blue skies and chirpping birds. The Church by the station starts chimming out 6 rings of the bell telling me I'm actually early for once ( go figure the one time Marta actually gets me somewhere on time is during a fucking deluge- is it me or this the Bizarro version of public transportation?). Well I braved the elements for the show and it was well worth my troubles.
Anyhoo- hope to see all my Secretroom-mates out and about tomorrow-I'm opening for Dj Spider at ze SKIN2
