Full Moon Dancing
Aug. 2nd, 2004 10:58 amFull Moon lit up like a Chesire Cat smile, hanging dangerously low all over the world on the same Saturday night, teasing the towers of a hundred cities all rising and reaching with desperate sklyline fingers that fail to snatch it out of the pool of clouds to wear like a stolen ring. This is the full moon of witches and shamen, the moon of ceremonies that were already ancient when man began his story of history, it is the moon of spells, rituals and wishes - and I am visited by a fire goddess that I summoned without a name, who has come into my life to answer my burning prayers and wake the werewolf blood inside me. She has heard the howling song of my want for her and returns it with a kiss, moves like poetry across my body, tames the monsters I have hidden in darkness and frees them to dance across her skin, channels my pain in waves that splash across her with heat and violence. Finally when the sun rises we collapse into each other trembling and whipering each others name, until she falls asleep in my arms like a lioness after the hunt, like the angels will the day after judgement day. I smile though no one can see me. I smile forgiven and strong. I smile even now thinking of that full moon dance and the wolf man in sheeps clothing I had all along.
