Winter Solace

I had a dream last night that I had won a contest writing a holiday jingle,(which upon waking immediately forgot), and one of the prizes I had received was that I didn't have to come into work today. I actually woke reliefed when the alarm went off that I didn't have to go to work today because I had a lot of shit to do before I go on vacation tomorrow. Then I woke up again a few minutes later and realized today was the Winter Solstice and that I, in fact, had not won a contest at all. Then I remembered that it was eleven years ago today that I took my Minerval pledge with the Lodge Abraxas. Diane, my girlfriend at the time, was lying in bed with me that morning, I had just called out of my telemarketing job and told them it was a religious holiday.
