Danger: Bicycle Pants Man X-ing!

When I was living on Briarcliff Road earlier this year, on my way to and on my way back from work my path would cross one of Atlanta's more notorios attractions - the infamous
'Bicycle Pants Man' of Ponce De Leon. Who has lived in this city for over a year and has not yet come across this local legend & living landmark?

Go down to the corner of Ponce & Briarcliff and you'll see him waiting at the bus stop, sometimes for entire hours on end. The old black man with long braided hair( slightly reminscent of an aging Miles Davis), offering up a gentle nod 'hello' with a side of smile to the stream of traffic trickling by or a salute of his walking stick to those who wave at him and proudly wearing his bright white bicycle pants, allowing any and all to see the outline of his impressive slab of man-love!

Sometime in the Summer some smart ass got the idea to make the above sign and nail up to the telephone poll over by where he stands. I guess to warn passing motorists to slow down and take in the sights. It was up from mid-June and gone by July. Though the sign is no longer there you can always find the 'Bicycle Pants Man' waiting year round patiently and pleasantly for a bus that never seems to come.
