I came back to Atlanta at the dawn of the new year to find myself having joined the ranks of the Great Unemployed! Count me now amongst your Hobo Bodhidharma's, your Crack Head Savants, your Screaming Wino Prophets (divining the future from the piss stains in their pants), your "Charlie-Don't-Couch-Surf's", your no way to make a living dead, your Gutter Punk Lotharios and all those other members of the Involuntarily Invisible. In other words i'm a three letter word for 'Writer'... by which I mean a Bum!

Right now i've contracted some kind of lung pollution in the chest, a bitch of a cold whose only virtue is that it leaves me feeling a little spin-dizzy silly in the head... so it's like getting to do free drugs... not very good ones but drugs never the less! There's a Bill Burroughs angle in there somewhere i'm sure...

The Phlegm-Junkies come shambling out of the blue gray dawn, spreading air-borne narcotics from long, rattling coughs. A hallucinogenic contagion that seeps into the system from a barrage of sloppy kisses, shared joints, swigs off flasks and delirious acts of unrequited oral sex. Once infected, the host lives in a dream world of abandoned cities and naked reptillian lovers that drape themselves off the walls of alleyways, whisper-hissing Come On's and sordid propositions in a language all their own...

Later i'll tell you about a dance off at Lenny's, a lonely night at the Star Bar, Playstation Karoke at the Princesses Birthday Gala, another episode of Urban Exploration and other things you really don't wanna know.

For now though it's a beautiful late Summers day here in the January of Atlanta '08, so i'm off to sweat the sickness off some and then work on my great American Novella.
