Last week, as some of you may have already read, my camera broke. It can still take pictures but it now (inexplicably) lacks the ability to zoom out. As in at all. It was then suggested to me by
elvis and
vortex to take this as a challenge, to see what kind of shots I could frame under this mechanical handicap. That by doing so I might become a better photographer.
Naturally all I could think at the time was - 'Fuck that!'
But then today, feeling restless and noticing how lonely my trusty mountain bike 'Baby' was looking - I grabbed my lens crippled Olympus to brave the heat and take up my friends' challenge.
Ended up hopping fences, climbing mounds of rubble, pushing past brambles, dodging hornets and standing in the middle of the road to get just the right shot.
Now let's see if it was worth it:
