Amongst plenty of other goodies this year, I got a veritable library for Christmas - Vonnegut, Burroughs, Acker, Murakami, Bradbury, Thompson, O'Connor & Bowles. Because the only thing I love more than writing is reading (well there's one other thing but let's keep this PG for the kids). Also, I got something I've wanted since I was 16 - A Misfits 'skull' shirt!

Another annual tradition observed here in Terminus is the gathering of a mob of drunken malcontents who dress up as Saint Nick and then 'draft' a random busker to dress as Jesus before chasing him wildly through the streets. The tradition originated back in Terminus during the early 1800s - when every Christmas the city elders would dress as Santa and chase the Irish out of Five Points. Eventually though, after Sherman's Siege of Terminus, they decided to chase out a symbolic representation of Jesus due his refusal to participate in the 'War Between the States'. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle...
