More News From Nowhere Dept:
May. 20th, 2013 03:55 pmWent with mom to go over the new house she's buying down in People's Town with the home inspector. It's about a ten minute walk from the Grant Park and as with much of Terminus seems to be in a segue zone betwee...n 'hood' and 'burb' that I personally find quite charming. File it under: Pre-gentrification. What really counts to me is seeing her happy (which after dad's passing is a major victory in and of itself). I think it'll be good for her to live somewhere that doesn't constantly remind her of him or the live they were supposed to be still sharing.
Meanwhile - I got an email with another story rejection (my twelth this year), still haven't gotten the paperwork on the audiobook contract nor a reply about it since the meeting last Tuesday and despite it all really I'm really digging the rewrites I did yesterday on the next book. Also, I've been notified by Airtran that I've got a $100 credit on my next flight with them (due to being stuck on the runway for an hour at Hartsfield after there had been some 'technical difficulties' with our landing gear... *gulp*). Thinking of maybe flying out somewhere I've never been for a few days... ah, but where?
Well, I'm sure I'll think of something.
Anyway might hang out with the Princess and Amyzon tonight, tomorrow I got yard work scheduled OTP and then after that another meeting about the short film I've penned.
Speaking of which - anyone know someone proficient and cheap (or cheap-ish) that can edit film? Right now there's a short zombie movie based on one of my short stories starring none other than Justin Welborn & Bernard Setaro Clark (and also with myself & Elvis Thompson as zombies... how cool is that?). All it needs right now is an editor to come along and help us whittle it down to something manageable.
