The work goes slow so far this week but not for a lack of hours invested. It's always difficult at first playing in another author's toy box, there are rules to be followed rather than being made. It's one of the main reasons I've never taken a stab at writing the comic books I dig.
So where as before, with say Unity, TX... the geography flowed free to the eye whereas in Innsmouth I must follow the map and do what men are stereotypically loathe to do - ask for directions. Especially when it's from a dead visionary who seems to suffer from a bad case of Omniphobia (what I'm guessing is the fear of everything).
And if you think the King in Yellow or the Necronomicon are maddening, try your hand at re-reading the same Lovecraft story over and over until the details start to sink in.
Because whether you're writing Innsmouth or Gotham City or just a quick trip for cigarettes up the block, if the author can't see it, you can sure as shit bet the audience won't either.
Alright, got the paying job tomorrow and plenty of work ahead of me.
Signing off from the edge of scenic Innsmouth.
