Outsourced Salvation

To everyones surprise Jesus converted a few years ago from Christianity ("Myselfism" as he called it) to a significantly less violent faith than the one he was then associated with. "Look if you guys are gonna just put words in my mouth everytime you need to justify your own prejudices anyone who looks, says or does something you don't approve of, well, then i'm sorry but I quit!" said a suspiciously stoned sounding Messiah, "Seriously... if you all hate homosexuals and liberals so much then you get on that damn cross and suffer for everyones sins for a few minutes... meanwhile i'm gonna try to open my mind a little... maybe you should think about doing the same. Y'know... What Would I Do and all that!"
This is even more controversial than when Jesus reportedly said "Relax everyone. John Lennon is bigger than me ... well, my Dad at least."

I always thought Paul took everything Jesus taught and corrupted it anyway.
Thanks for spinning all night at the Hafla! You rock!

on 2007-07-03 02:22 pm (UTC)I've actually come to a similar opinion regarding Paul (though for a moment there I thought you meant Mccartney), especially after reading "When God Was A Woman" by M. Stone (along with E.Pagel's "Gnostic Gospels") which gets into Paul's reversal of the teachings of the Christ.
Glad to have been of assistance.

on 2007-07-04 03:59 am (UTC)I am of the same opinion of Paul.... but when my husband (who actually likes the letters he wrote) asked me to explain or give example of my theory, I was at a loss. This sounds like something that would help me out as well as educate me.
