This makes me wonder who else would make for a good comic artist - classic literary work team up. Perhaps a Joe Kubert-esque version of Hemingway's "For whom the bell tolls" or Jack Kirby's "The Catcher in the Rye"?

Nice call, he'd really get the feel for the characters and the aerial scenes would be spectacular. When I first read this though my mind saw 'Catcher in the Rye'.
