You may now kiss the ....
Jul. 14th, 2004 03:17 pmJust posting some good news. Looks like I'll have my chance to be Best man and maid of honor at the same time.
"The vote was 48-50, 12 short of the 60 needed to keep the measure alive. "I would argue that the future of our country hangs in the balance because the future of marriage hangs in the balance," said Sen. Rick Santorum a leader in the fight to approve the measure..". Yeah it seems the conservative mantra of "State rights" falls apart the moment it involves the Government actually minding it's own business. "State rights" only applys when it involves the Feds witholding money or drilling for oil in Nat'l land parks. The scary thing is I can see this vote being the rally cry for every crabfaced puritan with an itch to stick their shitty little noses in every one elses business to get out and vote this November. I mean really besides the dreaded"HOMO" threat this country faces is there anything else Bush the II has to run on.. Osama still on the loose, the only jobs not susceptible to downsizing is the fast food industry, the nat'l debt just jumped up (no need to cover that though on CNN or FOX), close to a 1000 of our finest dead in Iraq and opps "Well we didn't find no WMD's here boys...but we sure got a bunch of them there arab fella's intrested in Jihad now"-Wow you'd think there might be more pressing issues for our Senators to be dealing with. Sorry Rush, O'reilly and Annie Coulter but just maybe our founding fathers weren't all that concerned with the prospect of gay marriage.
Blah, blah, blah. Rant over. Heading home.
We now return to our regularly scheduled drama.
