Scenes from my Real Life
Feb. 9th, 2013 11:25 pmSo while biking around the city earlier this afternoon, I zipped by Piedmont Park where there was some sort of music event caged in at that restaurant located right off Monroe. They had a cover band doing various late 80s soft-metal hits that echoed all the way to the nature trail past the dog park at Piedmont. One of the songs in their set was Whitesnake's 'Here I go Again'. Which had almost the entirety of their primarily young and inebriated audience shouting along the lyrics. Which struck me as odd, because bellowing 'Like a drifter I was born to walk alone' from the midst of and in unison with a beer marinated crowd seems to be the exact opposite of what the song's trying to say. Is this one of those 'irony' things I read about the young folks digging? Anyway, I admittedly haven't done enough cocaine or driven enough fast cars in my youth to fully appreciate the 'Snake, so I'll apologize if I'm missing something obvious and will now fire up my lighter before holding it over my head for a respectable amount of time.
