Of all the mixed tapes i've made this ones my favorite. It came out of nowhere really. I was just sitting there lotused posistioned & just fucking around on the decks, not really sure where to go or what to start with. With neither plan nor intention I picked out the Femmes & wanted to see where I could go with it on the spot. 45 minutes later and this is what I had. The guitars make for easy segues, especially Bowie out of the Faint and Murder Inc's faux Irish ballad makes great use of Martin Atkins on the drums which made it a natural to take out of the Stripes tracks. My favorite is Janes out of GNR the chords just meshed up so well it almost seemed like the same song for a few seconds. Truth be known thought the real reason is that this is my Emotional Time Machine. I can pop this fucker in at work and the Femmes take me from teen angstville and by the time i'm at Death In Vegas or Cave i'm in my 30s again sitting at a bar with bad light & brick walls.
The trumpet has obviously been drinking
Because he's fucking up even the simplest lines
I'd say it's a sight that's quite worth seeing
It's just that everyone's interest is stronger than mine
And when they clean the street I'll be the only shit that's left behind
