Here we see the martian invaders posting anti-Bush blogs on what we humans call...the internet!"

As you may or may not know i'm a very big fan of the pulp art of Norm Saunders who, amongst other achievements, did a lot of the illustrations to the Mars Attacks cards of 1962 (which was the basis for the Tim Burton movie of the same name). In my search for some of his works at lunch today I ran into a wonderful site http://www.marsattacksfan.com which offers a gallery of all the cards to the set.
"The cards that appear in this portion of the gallery never appeared in the original set. Instead, they appeared in the 1994 "archives" set. They represent the "homage subset" or "missing cards" that were painted in 1989 by Herb Trimpe and Earl Norem, but were never released until 1994.

Some of the pictures are based on Wally Wood's original pencil sketches, and others are new concepts. The story is basically a retelling of the original one, with the addition of the more peaceful "Paeec" Martians and the warlike "Gnards". Presented here, for the first time on the Web, are scanned reproductions of their genius"

This one is one of my favorites:

"Before the Martian invasion, warring gangs roamed the streets of New York City. Bloodshed was a common sight as factions clashed for no other reason than the colors of their skin were different! Being the wrong color on the side of the street brought out tensions which boiled over. When the Martians attacked, the gangs realized that there no longer was a right or wrong side of the street. A truce, brought about by the gang leaders, united all gangs regardless of race or color against a common threat- the destruction of the human race by a Martian invasion force. Knives, chains, axes, and rocks, once handy weapons used by humans against humans, were now used against a common foe. For the first time gangs banded together to repel this invasion of their turf. How long the truce would last was anyone's guess. They just knew that it would last long enough to fight back against the Martians!"

Oh and this one too:
