Ah the 'Golden Age' of comics! Earth-2! Your Grandfather's funnybooks! When America created a four color, blue collar mythology out of a panthenon of Science Golems, Gothic Vigilantes & Super Immigrants to pull herself out of the Great Depression and prepare for the coming Second World War.

But it wasn't all two fisted punch ups against the forces of facism, rivet bolted robots, mobsters and the occasional death ray wielding mad scientists. No sir! The Proto Superhero of yesteryear found himself battling Sadistic Torture Clowns, getting their 'Freak On', engaging in Kirbyesque Homoerotic shennigans or even just simply using their great powers to print up race baiting propaganda for the war effort!


Meanwhile, with our greatest champions preoccupied, who would defend 'Lady Liberty' against a floating disembodied head with blood dripping from his iron jaws and... um a transexual? Luckily for the Future Christain Right this transgender neer do well was thrwated by the 'Little Rascals'... or the 'All-Kid Action Squad' or the 'Super Sidekicks of America'... or some crazy ass shit like that! Hey look, it was a different time okay? There were no radioactive spiders, Gamma bombs or rageaholic canadian mutants running around! You simply put your underwear on over a pair of dance tights, tied a sheet around your neck and if you were lucky you'd find yourself a gang of kids to team up with and if you were really lucky one of them might be dressed up as 'Robin Hood'!

And then you got to fight 'HE-SHE!'

Yeah comics basically sucked then.
