WWKD- What Would Kirk Do?

Sometimes I forget that this great series of tubes known as the internets was originally built to serve two purposes.

First and foremost, it allows for what I would call 'the democratization of porn', providing an almost socialist wet dream for the masses to opiate themselves into a post-orgasmic stupor with. By 'masses' of course, I mean myself, as well as anyone else I happen to know with a modicum of internet access: Free Eroticism For The Poor!

Second, as we've all long suspected, it was actually designed to act as an international communication network for the Star Trek enthusiast. This transglobal networking system allows the 'Trekkie' to engage in the finer nuances of the great 'Picard versus Kirk' debate, the purchasing of obscure Star Trek kitsch as well as providing a detailed data base of arcane and often contradictory knowledge on a imaginary future existence, one where mankind has somehow managed to survive the Bush administration and began exploring outer space in earnest.

Ah but what happens when the internet lets the geeks get their Trekkie Chocolate in Porns Peanut butter? A strange, nasty and delightfully promiscuous alchemical love child filled with sordid 'slash-fiction' homoeroticism, Borg Porn, Orion Slave Girl fantasies and a little something we call the 'Hot Klingon Love!'

This represents, for me at least, a delightful marriage of 'our' utopian instincts and our dionysian passions. To one day live out there among the star as explorers of new worlds, sailors of the galactic seas, cosmic diplomats and interplanetary adventurers... all while collectively 'tapping the ass' of new life and new civilizations.

Boldly coming where no one has gone before.

What about Riker?

I was always a big NextGen fan and I swear it seemed his sole purpose was to tell Picard to stay on the ship and to get laid every other episode. I almost wondered if Federation ships had a Chief Tantric Officer - whose sole purpose was to test the sexual attitudes of recently discovered planets. Then I thought it was the beard.

But then again even Data got laid on Next Gen so whadda I know, huh?
