You know superheroes are a lot like Hollywood celebrities in that there is no small amount of speculation on who's currently out of the Bat-Closet and who's secret identity hides more than just name alone (which would make Bruce Wayne the Tom Cruise of the Superhero world one imagines). Well true believers you don't need Matt Murdoc's Gaydar senses any longer. The list is out.

There's some fun fanboy facts here, like apparently most of the Legion of Superheroes have experimented with more than time travel. A favorite being Element Lad, who was maybe gay but then was then wasn't but then wasn't quite sure himself anymore (check out how his girlfriend was a man who took a sex change drug to be with him... I shit you not), yeah and you thought they fucked up Hawkman's continuity (that's for all four of you get that one).

I'm a little surprised at who didn't make the list though. You mean to tell me the Sub-Mariner's straight? Really? Or that not one single Asgardian has ever been what the Gods call "Olympus Curious"? What about that one time Black Canary & the Huntress got drunk on the JLA satellite... oh wait I made that one up. A few times. With lots of different artists. Okay, fine... but you mean this was a strictly platonic rescue?

Riiiiii-ght!

Well anyway, it's all good... and that's the problem. You would think there would be more villains on the list. Especially with their fondness for tying buff men in tights up spread eagle in their dungeon-lair. But when there is some four color Pink Villainy going on they don't hold back. Lets just say this following page with gay robot on gay talking gorilla love should probably give every Christain NeoCon a heart attack within a hundred mile radius. Which is reason enough to post it alone.

Probably one of the best issues, which is saying a lot given that the whole Grant Morrison run on DP really blew my mind actually. A shame they've retconned those stories out of continuity.

Crazy Jane was a fantastic character, as was the entire Brotherhood of Dada (best supervillain team evah!)

I ran across that bit with Mallah surfing the comics pages the other day. I instantly want to read Doom Patrol.

Well first off congratulations on the big news!

Second, DP is great stuff, especially the Grant Morrison run.

Third. I was telling my buddy about the Mallah/Brain scene and realized how it's funny that if you paid twenty bucks to see gay robot on gorilla love at Dad's Garage it would be "art" but if you paid 3 bucks to read it in a comic a lot of those same folks would say it's just "silly".

Why thank you, good sir.

As for Ape/Robot love, sub "Eye Drum" for "Dad's Garage" and I agree 100%. :)

I love that one. Especially where the superhero's familys sitting down to thanksgiving and the vulture guy comes through the window, lands on the table and starts squaqking.

I like Buddy. I think if you ignore the pseudo-new age crappy issues that came out after Peter Milligans (with the "Green Cigarette") & Grant Morrisons run his continuity isn't all that bad. Besides he's one of the few superbeings aware that he's a character in a comic book (though after Zero Hour/Infinite Crisis i'm not sure if that's still the case).

Though I was just watching the JLU cartoon and they did a pretty decent job on Hawkmans origin without it being to confusing (Plus he was voiced by "Ajax" from the Warriors).

Yeah I miss DP too. I hate sounding like an old man but they don't make comics like that much anymore - somewhere between Vertigo clever and Mainstream fun without ever taking itself to seriously.

Doom Patrol was a brief light of transendance
during an age of entitlement.
Seriously,Besides the Boys,whos pushing it?
And Ennis shouldnt count anyway,he hit that
Shit gold thing a long time ago.
Granted I am currently enjoying
Thor
That recent Wolverine 50=55 had me at the shop.
The Boys
What else delivers these days?
Im at a loss and the "Zombie" craze pisses me off.
Gah!

It's odd really but for sheer "delivery" i'm enjoying the hell out of two western comics right now- Lone Ranger & Jonah Hex. I don't know maybe I just miss Deadwood. Ellis (aka Internet Rasputin) has one of the better takes on superheroes with Black Summer. Dug issue #666 of Bat-Man lots. Oddly enough Bendis' Avengers is pretty fun, the whole Skrull thing feels done already, if not by Battle Star Galactica then with the Rom Wraith war(if you remember that) and i'm really sick of the ninja bit but it has it's moments. The Marvel Zombie thing jumped the shark with "Dead Days" in my opinion but I am a big fan of Images "Walking Dead".

But yeah i'm kinda wondering where the next Morrison, Ellis & Ennis are going to come from?

Okay "Walking Dead" is exempt as its the one that started the craze.
But the shop Im a patron at"Odin comics"someone ordered everything with "Zombie" in it,its kinda disturbing how many blatant cash in titles
are out there,Damn fanboy bandwagon needs to drive off a cliff.
Im unsure where the next good writers going to come from myself,
seems like most titles are going back into that early 80s Marvel style.
Excluding Millers Daredevil of course.
RoM-WOW i thought I was the only one who read Rom.
