You know one of the most frequent questions I receive here on the world wide interwebs would have to be "Jack, what would happen if proto-industrial legends Einstürzende Neubauten got really, really shitfaced one night and somehow gang banged HBO's comedy folk-duo The Flight of the Conchords?" Yes, I get asked a lot of seriously screwed up questions but more importantly than that, I have now have an answer: Meet Hurra Torpedo who are without a doubt the definitive Norwegian kitchen appliance band. Think of it as hot blooded Viking-Dada from the Scandinavian Peninsula. Here's their cover of the Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart.

Bonus round: Here's the previously mentioned Einstürzende Neubauten reminding the world why the Germans remain some of the scariest mother fuckers in all of Europe.

I can sympathize, i'm occasionaly subjected to that lite-fm brand of R&B ("Motown without the soul, flavor or balls!") frequently here on the Cubefarm but my job does let me listen to music so I guess it could be worse.

I literally just saw two of my brain cells jump out of my ear screaming all the way down.
One is still hangin in my nose now threatening to jump if I dont end this song. I believe tht is the one with my memories of the original of this song, so I am tempted to let him jump.

Had the opportunity to hear him scream at a Bad Seeds concert years ago (not the warbling like in the vid, but this lovely high-pitched, steam-whistle-woman sort of scream).

Near the end of Stagger Lee you'll hear Blixa's heavenly scream.

Blixa is the fourth person to sing in their version of Death Is Not The End. In the album version he has this great Igor sounding voice. Heh. Yay, studio!

Not that you can see much of Blixa in this one, but it is a scene from one of the best films ever made by one of the greatest directors ever to live. (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds made an appearance in Wings of Desire by Wim Wenders.)

Okay, okay, one more. I don't know if you'll be able to pick it out from the siren's music if you haven't heard it before, but here is Blixa screaming live. It's much nicer with the Bad Seeds backin' it up! ;p
