There really is two America's isn't there. I mean I don't agree with the Right Wing in this country 95% of the time but this just goes beyond differences in policy or leadership, this is outright fear and hatred.
I have been sharing this with just about everyone I know. I think its important to shine on a light on how much we still have to grow as a nation. It truly makes my stomach hurt.
What's more shameful than these people's ignorance is that the McCain/Palin machine is perpetuating this disinformation to people who should be able to trust them.
And then they get all offended when someone calls them on it. That's some crazy politickin' right there.
The sociopathic right has been manipulating and using these people for years. The problem is Frankenstein's Monster might just get out of control and there will be nothing the doctor can do about stopping it.
We need to divide up as a country. Let these people have their all-white theocracy. Then we can eliminate taxes by simply charging the escaping ex-theocrats for reentry to the land of reason and science.
I really like that idea actually... but thinking about it, the only problem with it is that the United Christian States of Nascar would enivatably fuck up their own economy so bad that they would have no choice but to invade our country... probably on the pre-text of saving the unborn or that we possess librarys or some other reason.
Hey, those guys LOVE walls. We'll make them so paranoid they'll build this massive wall and then all we'll have to do is defend it. :) Borders and all that.
The stupidity level would, of course, make them technically and intellectually bankrupt. But at least they can have their dinosaur riding fantasies.
I haven't replied to many of these comments on this post, because I honestly don't know what to say. Maybe it's because I'm a little scared of organized ignorance, maybe it's because I was naive enough to believe that people like this just didn't exist in America anymore (or I should say this many of them at least).
Either way I've been just a little stunned about it.
melodyclark might have the right idea... lets divy up the country and let the assholes have their NRA version of Jesus while the rest of us go about the business of catching up with the 21st century.
