While out hunting flowers, I came across a few other sights in the neighborhood that caught the eye. My favorite being what I have dubbed the 'Zombie Car', located in a friends backyard (who I inadverently woke up to gain access too... sorry once again, man). I have no idea what year or model it is (and would be much obliged to anyone who might be able to identify it), but I really dig how the front grill and headlights resemble a sort of fish face - conjuring images of a behemoth steel pirhana that has been beached in the brambles of a abandoned yard. If I had the time, talent and the models to do so with I would love to do some kind of shoot inside or on it.

That rusted/vined over door is incredibly evocative.
The plot bunnies LOVE it. Heh.

Muffled sobbing and the sound of chipped nails scrapping against rust can be heard coming from behind the door... some say it is the sound of a mother's ghost grieving for a child she was separated from too soon. I for one, however, blame the economy instead.

that car does look like you shouldn't stand too close
or it might bite. :-)

also, very pretty silhouette dancer on the door.

Which makes me curious... if zombies want 'brains' what would a zombie car want? Engines? Wheels? Passengers? Mmmmm passengers...

The dancer is on the doorway to a little belly dancing studio down the block from Little 5. I've been meaning to get a picture of it for awhile now.

I would love to see that car is some kind of zombie remake of 'Christine'.

I guess since it's a zombie car, maybe every other car it dents in turn becomes another zombie car... then we move from 'Christine' to 'Maximum Overdrive'.

The 1/2 Way shoes complex is bizarre -- filled with junk, complete with what I took for creepy mannequins in the shadows...

I had no idea that place was even open when I went by. It looked gutted out from what I could see of the inside (through a hole in the side where an AC used to be). For some reason I was captivated by the candle on its sign reminding me of that old nursery rhyme - "here comes a candle to light you to bed/ here comes a chopper to chop off your head".

Zombie car is a Chevy Bel Air, something between a '52 and a '54. Before '52, they didn't have as many "teeth" in the grille, and in '55, they swapped out the toothy look for a grille with finer lines. This is what he would have looked like back in the day:
Sexy, in either condition.

Thank you!!!

There is apparently no end to your sheer 'ass-kickery':)

How'd you track it down, if you don't mind me asking?

Apparently I made a deal with the mechanical gods in which I gave up the ability to recognize people's faces, and gained the ability to recognize cars and planes. Which is to say that I knew make, model, and approximate year from looking at the headlight configuration and the curve of the hood, and then I pulled up shots of Bel Airs from 51 to 58 to confirm the match. I'm good with metal things.

Wow, looks like 40's to me...and what a face! Thanks for these and your "bloomy" pics. They made me feel all spring-y.

Your welcome. It just doesn't feel like Spring until the first dogwood blooms and the zombie cars growl.
