Four more for the 'rejection golem' I'm building here in the crooked corners of the Witch House. Three from potential agents and one for the short story I submitted a few months back. When I have enough of these I will write my name across its forehead and send it out to wreck mayhem across the globe.

Dear Mr. ____:

Thank you for sending me a query letter describing your novel. After careful evaluation, I have decided that I am not the right agent to represent your work. Please do not take this rejection as a comment on your writing ability. I can only properly represent material that greatly excites or interests me. I am sure another agent will feel quite differently about your work.

Please note that I have a new email address, different from the one you sent the query to. For all future queries, please contact me at sandy@lperkinsagency.com

I wish you the best of luck finding representation with the right agent and good fortune with your writing career.

Sincerely,
Sandy Lu

Dear ____,

Thank you for submitting your query to The Rappaport Agency. While your proposal shows merit, I'm afraid it's not right for us. As I'm sure you know, this is a very subjective business, and no doubt another agent will feel differently. Best of luck in your writing career.

Best wishes,
Jodi Meadows

Dear Mr. ____:

Unfortunately, HIGH MIDNIGHT doesn't sound right for me. Thank you for thinking of me, and good luck with your writing.

Sincerely,
Marlene Stringer

And finally from across the pond...

Hi ____,

This one's a no from us.

Cheers

Whew... tough week.

Oh well, life goes on and if nothing else the past few days have taught me that the most beautiful word in the English language is 'Endure'. After all Rome wasn't burnt down in a day.

Edit: It occurs to me that being a writer who has no need for rejection slips is about as practical as being a boxer who plans on never having to take a punch in their career.
